Designer Dog Clothes

Many pet owners choose to give their dog clothes, whether it’s to help keep their furry friend warm or as a fashion accessory. Some breeds, such as Chihuahuas, Yorkshire Terrirers and Chinese Crested along with other toy breeds need some help keeping warm, they can be born with or without a full coat of fur, leaving them exposed to the wind and rain. Owners may need to dress their dogs accordingly to help when they’re out and about. It's important to ensure your dog is wearing appropriate clothing depending on the situation, for example it may not be typically appropriate to wear winter 'town clothes' to dog training.

There are many different types of dog clothing, and they can be purchased easily online. The patterns on dog clothing are often taken from fabric purchased at a fabric shop, but many designs are bespoke specifically for canines.

There are many personalised items of clothing for dogs, such as t-shirts, hoodies, blanket coats, fleece vests, tank tops, polo shirts, sweaters and even hats. Dogs can even get Snowsuits and Cargo pants.

Some owners make their own dog clothes, if buying, dog clothing can range from very affordable to expensive, high-end designer dog wear. The clothes are either designed to be functional or just for show (much like human clothing). Functional dog clothes can help protect the animal from the elements and possible allergens. Dog shirts can be used to help protect a dog which is excessively scratching itself and can prevent sunburn on hairless dogs.

Some dog clothes are used purely for show on special occasions, including costumes for holidays such as Halloween and Christmas (sometimes even weddings).

In recent years dog clothing has gone eco-friendly, with all styles of dog clothes being available in eco-friendly or organic versions. Many dog clothes are made using organic cotton and are often made from reworked human clothing. In fact, some dog clothes are made from recycled PET bottles.
